Online Spending Shock
If you have an online business or are thinking about starting one, this could
be of critical importance It’s always best to set up any business so that you have a ‘following wind’, and in this
context that means directing your efforts to where the money is.
Now I don’t know about you, but I’d have thought the biggest online spenders were the tech-savvy young in their
20’s and early 30’s. Not so according to a new survey from basekit.com. They found that the over 55’s are the
biggest online shoppers with 33% of them making most of their purchases online. The 25-34 age group were actually
the least likely to buy online.
This has clear implications for anyone selling online, particularly with regard to targeting, product selection and
marketing approaches. If the over 55’s are eager to buy online, it would be rude not to find things they’d be
happy to spend their money on!
